Hanauma Bay
Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve is a beautiful and enjoyable underwater nature experience. Home to some of the most beautiful, colorful, unique marine life in the world, it was declared a Marine Life Conservation District in 1967. Hanauma Bay is one of the premier snorkeling and scuba locations in Hawaii. Hanauma Bay Education Program developed by the University of Hawaii is used to educate over one million visitors each year. Hanauma Bay is one of the most popular recreational swimming, snorkeling and picnicking areas on Oahu. Hanauma bay is the result of the ocean's breaching a volcano crater.
Hanauma Beach
There is a steep walk down and up the crater to get to and from the beach. There is a shuttle for an extra fee that will provide you transportation if you desire. At the beach there is snorkel rentals, information centers, restrooms, showers, and lifeguards. The beach is spread out around the crater to provide lots of room. The white sand beach with majestic cliffs provide excellent photo opportunities.
